MACC meeting Monday, May 7
MEEKER | The next meeting of the Meeker Arts and Cultural Council will be Monday, May 7 at 6:30 p.m. at the Meeker United Methodist Church annex. Youth and adults are welcome to attend.
Refrain park use during construction
MEEKER | Because of the possibility of falling rocks and obstructions during construction, for your safety, the ERBM Recreation and Park District is asking the public to refrain from using the Phillip & Dorcas Jensen Memorial Park on weekdays from May 3 through May 18 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. After 6 p.m. weekday and weekend use should pose no hazards. Everyone is encouraged to visit the park when the trail improvements are completed.
Mother’s Day Luncheon Sunday, May 6
MEEKER | The Walbridge Wing is having its Mother’s Day Luncheon Sunday, May 6 at 1:15 p.m. In honor of Wing resident Merle Brenton’s 102 birthday, they are planning to release 102 balloons at the same time.
May is chamber appreciation month
RANGELY | May is Rangely Area Chamber of Commerce (RACC) member appreciation month. The RACC will randomly be drawing a member a week for four week and they will get prizes. Also, the RACC will be offering dues at half off for new chamber members that join during the month of May, promotion ends May 31. Circus coming to Meeker May 14
MEEKER | The Meeker Chamber is excited to bring the Carson & Barnes Circus to Meeker! In the coming days business owners may receive a phone call from a circus representative named Shelby, selling children’s tickets. These tickets can be used for children the business owners want to send, or for less fortunate children who might not otherwise be able to attend. If you have any questions after talking with her, please let us know at the chamber. The circus will be in town Monday, May 14 for two shows at the fairgrounds, one at 4:30 p.m. and one at 7:30 p.m.
Old Timer’s Association needs your photos
RBC | The Rio Blanco County Pioneers Association (Old Timers) will celebrate its 100th anniversary this year on June 2 and is looking for pictures of the past presidents. If anyone has a picture of a past officer please call Connie Theos at 970-878-5369 or mail to 6909 County Road 49, Meeker, Colo., 81641; or Kay Bivens at 970-878-4866 or mail 1157 Garfield St., Meeker, Colo., 81641. All pictures will be returned to their owners.
