Community Wrestling benefit this weekend
MEEKER | There will be a benefit yard sale for the Meeker Community Wrestling Club this Friday, from 2-6 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at 38527 Hwy. 13 (the large pink and green farm house on the south side of the White River). All proceeds go to the Meeker Community Wrestling Club.
Gifts from the Home workshop Oct. 6
MEEKER | The RBC Extension Office is hosting a “Gifts from the Home” workshop on Oct. 6 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the extension office. Cost is $20. For more information and to reserve your spot. Call 878-9490.
RBC Historical Society meets Oct. 7
MEEKER | The Rio Blanco County Historical Society will meet on Sunday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. at Kilowatt Korner in the WREA building at Sixth and Market. The theme of this quarterly meeting will be “Cowboys,” a discussion of the colorful history and characters who were widely known throughout Rio Blanco County and the difficult lifestyle they faced “ridin’ for the brand” in all weather conditions and hardships; yet they had fun and possessed many talents and colorful personalities that endeared them to the White River valley residents. All are welcome to “mosey on down” and join the historical society for a potluck lunch of cowboy trail cuisine of beans, cornbread and all the “trimmins.”
PMC Home Health offers monthly foot care
MEEKER | Pioneers Medical Center Home Health will be offering its monthly foot care clinic, Tuesday, Oct. 9, 10 a.m. at The Pines. A certified nurse assistant will trim toenails, assess circulation, give skin care and check blood pressure. Persons found to have circulation or foot problems will be referred to a physician. Capitol Christmas Tree celebration Nov. 3
MEEKER | Mark your calendars for Saturday, Nov. 3 to celebrate the Capitol Christmas Tree coming from the White River National Forest.
The Celebration will be held in downtown Meeker and will include a 5K run/walk, street fair, music, bounce houses, stilt walkers, Ute Indian dancers, children’s holiday music performances, dignitary speeches, parade of lights, fireworks, Santa Claus and more. Festivities start at 2 p.m. and go until after dark.
