RBC I Western Slope Honor Flight has been organized under the national organization for the purpose of flying veterans from the Western Slope of Colorado to and from the memorials at no cost to them.
Once they arrive in the Washington, D.C., area, a charter bus will transport the veterans to the memorials. After 60 years of waiting, they will see what was built to honor them. Past honor flight veterans have visited and taken photographs, but mostly reminisced about their experiences and remembered fallen comrades.
Donations are now being accepted to help these veterans visit their memorial at www.westernslopehonorflight.com, then click on donate.
Flights, meals, T-shirts, overnight lodging and motor coach transport services are provided at no cost to the participating veterans. The program’s top priority is to transport our nation’s most senior heroes and terminally ill veterans of all wars/conflicts (WWII, Korea, Vietnam).
The next flight will be Oct 5-6.
If you would like to go, please fill out and return your application early. Once again we will be taking more than 100 veterans and about 75 guardians to Washington, D.C. Applications are available at: www.westernslopehonorflight.com, or from Tom Kilduff 878-4426 or (970) 620-6684 cell.
