RBC I President Obama signed into law the Veterans’ Access, Choice and Accountability Act of 2014 on Aug. 7, allowing eligible veterans to elect to use non-Veterans Administration health care for a period of up to three years, based either on the distance a veteran lives from a VA facility or if he or she is experiencing a wait time beyond the 30-day standard.
It is important to know that the Access, Choice and Accountability Act does not provide guaranteed health care coverage or an unlimited medical benefit.
A veteran’s eligibility must be verified. Advance authorization from the VA is also required.
All Rio Blanco County veterans are eligible.
