On Aug. 21, the Augusta Wallihan Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution dedicated the newly renovated and landscaped grave site of A.G. and Augusta Wallihan in Lay. This was the first historic preservation project completed by the chapter that was organized in 2009. Chapter members were joined by the Colorado State Regent and State Historian as well as 10 A.G. Wallihan descendants for the dedication ceremony.
We would like to thank the following for their generous help and donations to this project: Don Jones, Craig Steel; Erv Gerber, Northwest Ready Mix, Dan Davidson, Museum of Northwest Colorado; Larry Neu, Cross Mountain Ranch management and the Wallihan family.
Without the help of these volunteer workers and donors, this project could not have been completed. We are now looking forward to our next preservation project.
