Sharon Noreen Fredericks was born Aug. 11, 1944, to Dr. and Mrs. M.A. Fredericks of Meeker.
She grew up and attended schools in Meeker through her freshman year of high school. She moved with her mother to Boulder, Colo., and finished high school in Boulder. After graduation, she attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, majoring in business, graduating in 1964.
The future had many challenges and changes for Sharon. After college, she moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, for employment, and she met her husband, Larry Daniels, who was stationed there in the U.S Navy. They married there and returned to the states after his tour was over. The moved to San Antonio, Texas, where Larry was employed with the federal government for several years.
After they decided to go their separate ways, Sharon moved to Taos, N.M., to be near her brother, David. Here, she started a new chapter of life. She bought a group of old apartments in Taos, did extensive remodeling and turned them into beautiful vacation condos, which became very successful for summer and winter tourists.
After several years, she sold the condominiums and she and her brother, David, retired to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., enjoying the beach and warm weather. After living there for five years, she found she missed the mountains and the friendly people of the West. She found Palm Springs, Calif., moved there, bought a home and was employed in hotel management at Palm Canyon Resort. She enjoyed Palm Springs very much.
On July 12, 2013, Sharon lost her battle with cancer. Her mother and father, brother Bernard and sister Marshia Emry preceded her in death.
Sharon is survived by her beloved brother, David, of Palm Springs; her sister, Carolyn Neher, her nephew, Scott Neher, and her niece, Susan Osman, all of Chandler, Ariz.; and her nephew, Patrick Neher of Orange County, Calif.
She will be missed for her great sense of humor and her wonderful laugh.
Services will be held at a later date.
