Having let the dog out and back in for the last time on June 24, 2012, while at her home in Meeker, she leaves behind many friends and a large family. A. Carol Woodard Kilduff Russell joined us on Dec. 16, 1942, the daughter of Stephen and Opal Woodard, and went on to lead a life full of adventures.
After her school years, she wed James M. “Jim” Kilduff and they were quickly joined by three children: Jamie, Jody and Howard. After numerous stunts by these three kids, they eventually provided her with six grandchildren and that is when her oldest granddaughter, Tessa, lovingly called her Grandma Guy and the name stuck.
After the untimely death of Jim in New Mexico, Carol returned to Meeker and after a time, became united in marriage to Jack Russell and her family size doubled. The increase in family was great but Carol especially loved the addition of her step-grandchildren, who are too numerous to mention. Being called Grandma Guy was one of her favorite moments and each child held a special place in her heart.
Carol is survived by many friends and her family members including her sisters Maudie Louthan and Fern Burke, and her brother Jim Woodard. Also left to mourn her passing are all three of her children: Jamie (Bill) Owen, Jody (Jeff) Squire, and Howard (Peggy) Kilduff; along with her grandchildren Tessa (Jason) Staples, Tori (Adam) Todd, Holli Squire, JW Squire, James “Jak” (Amy) Kilduff, Clinton (fiancé Kirstie) Kilduff; and great-grandchildren Owen and Kinzie Todd and “Baby” Staples, along with her dog, George. Survivors also include Jack’s daughters and their children and families. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen and Opal Woodard, and her sisters: Betty Klinglesmith, Leola Hutton and Geraldine Stanton.
Graveside services will be held on July 21 and will be followed by a “Celebration of Her Life” luncheon.
Grant Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements. She will be missed!
