Anthony John “Tony” Meath, Jr.

Anthony John “Tony” Meath, Jr., of Lockeford, Calif., passed away Feb. 23, 2008, at a local care facility. He was born Feb. 2, 1921, in Luck, Wis., to Anthony John and Anna Estelle Meath. Meath was a self-employed land developer and rancher for more than 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and raising buffalo. Tony was a member of the Elks Lodge, Ducks Unlimited and the Republican party. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.
Tony is survived by his wife, Norma (Cook) Meath of Lockeford; sons Bill Meath of Lockeford and Mark Meath of Lodi; grandchildren John, Tara, Anthony and Joseph Meath; and siblings Happy Jensen, Pat Brunner, Carmen Norling and Bob Meath. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Gayla Meath.
Tony is the developer of the Little Beaver Estates, the Little Rancho Estates and the White River Ranch Estates, all in Rio Blanco County. He owned the Rio Blanco Store early in this decade. Tony was a friend of many people in the Meeker area.
Friends were invited to visit Wednesday, Feb. 27, at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave. in Lodi. A memorial service to celebrate Tony’s life was held at the funeral home Thursday, Feb. 28. Committal was private at Cherokee Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tony’s name to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., Stockton, Calif., 95204.
