Barbara Hennerman was born in Kansas City, Kan., and studied the electric steel guitar at a very early age. She played steel guitar on the radio portion of Red Foley’s Ozark Jubilee in Springfield, Mo., in the late 1950s and early 1960s. She also played and sang with many different bands and at numerous clubs and shows throughout Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Utah and California, providing backup music for many well known country music artists, including, Buck Owens, Johnny Paycheck, Bobby Austin, George Kent and David Wills to name a few. She loved to play her pedal steel guitar and sing.
Barbara was a licensed esthetician and also worked in the Code Enforcement Section for the City Of Santa Ana, Calif., for many years and as a medical transcriptionist for GAB Robins N.A.
Her passing has left a hole in each and every one of our hearts.
Barbara had six children, Kelly Ann Sandoval (Denver), Donald Jerome Winkler (Deceased), Michael Damon Winkler (Kansas City, Mo.), Walter Lee Hennerman (Rangely, Colo.), Erica Lynn Booher (Rock Springs, Wyo.), and Ross Allen Hennerman (Grand Junction, Colo.)
She also had more than 15 grandchildren, including John Sandoval (San Deigo, Calif.), Michael Sandoval (California), David Sandoval (Denver), Jozalyn Sandoval (Denver), Amber Sosa (Missouri), Seth Winkler (Kansas City, Mo.), Ben Winkler (Kansas City, Mo.), Nicholas Schultheis (Utah), Seth Buckler (Meeker, Colo.), Fletcher Buckler (Rangely), Shawnda Lee Scott (Rock Springs, Wyo.), Kayla Scott (Rock Springs), Devin Booher (Rock Springs), Zakkery Higginbotham (Rock Springs), Mackenzi Paige Hennerman (Grand Junction), Harlee Louise Hennerman (Grand Junction), and many beloved great-grandchildren.
