Barbara Jean Cook, 57, of Vernal passed away at her daughter’s home in Cypress, Texas, on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, from complications of a seizure.
Barbara was born Aug. 12, 1958, in Denver, Colo., to Leonard Elbert and Helen Barbara Schmidt Archer, and she attended South High School.
She married Martin L. Cook on June 26, 1978, in Grand Junction, Colo. Their marriage was later solemnized March 29, 1986, in the Mesa, Ariz., LDS Temple.
Barbara earned her associates degree in computer programing from Parks Community College while being a busy mother of six children.
She lived most of her life in Denver and Merritt Island, Fla.
Barbara spent her days investing unconditional and boundless amounts of time and love into her family. When she wasn’t spending time homeschooling her children, she enjoyed study delving into her family history and temple work.
Barbara is survived by: her husband; children, Sara Michael (David) Mack of Cypress, Texas, Claire Marie Meier Cook of Denver, Audra (Nic) Mazzotta of Ashland, Ohio, and Emily Alyse Cook of Toledo, Ohio, Danielle Lorraine (Matt) Ware of Melbourne, Fla., Hannah and (Mason) Weibel of Ashland, Ohio, Brian “Noah” Rex Cook of Vernal, Utah; 14 Grandchildren: Brice, Kaitlin, Rhys, Carynn, Owen, Samantha, Madison, Rex, Careigh, Coy, Jude, Eiley, Anaya and Kenslie and one more on the way.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Marilyn Saidu and Jimmie Archer.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at the Maeser 2nd Ward LDS Chapel. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery in Meeker, Colo. www.blackburnvernalmortuary.com
