Obituary: Beverly Bloch

Beverly Bloch
Beverly J. Bloch, nee Beverly Jean Fritzlan, was born in Meeker, Colo., on Nov. 9, 1952, to Calvin and Arlene (Gulliford) Fritzlan. Beverly’s exceptional work ethic and life values were formed as she grew up in the cattle ranch and guest ranch way-of-life. She attended the Meeker school system graduating with highest honors from Meeker High School in 1971. She furthered her education receiving an associate’s degree at Seward Community College and a bachelor of science degree in business administration/accounting at Oklahoma State University. In 1995, Beverly earned a Juris Doctor degree from Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, Calif., and began practicing family law in Anaheim Hills. She opened a second law office in Corona, Calif., in 2000. Beverly loved Corona and its citizens which was evident through her community involvement over the past decade. She was a member of the Corona Rotary Club, the Corona Women’s Improvement Club, the Norco Horsemen Association, and the Riverside/Corona Council of the Navy League serving as the vice adjutant. Beverly served on the Corona Regional Hospital board of directors, the Corona Library Foundation Board, and was board president for the Corona YMCA. She was a member of the Norco Area Chamber of Commerce and the Corona Chamber of Commerce where she served as chairman of the board of directors in 2007. Beverly was a member of and served as bequest and living trusts chairman Southeast District California-Hawaii Elks Association, Corona 2045. She was a member of the Orange County, Riverside County and Los Angeles County bar associations as well as the California State Bar Association.
Beverly loved to travel and visited many beautiful countries throughout the world, however, she always said the most beautiful place on earth was her home at Fritzlan’s Guest Ranch in northwest Colorado’s White River valley.
Beverly is survived by her son, Joseph Bloch, (grand children, Anna and Madeline) of Riverside, Calif.; her friend, Dean Herigstad, of Corona; her mother, Arlene Fritzlan; sisters Mona (Al) Avey and Betsie (Leonard) Thompson, all of Meeker, Colo., Sandie Fritzlan of Grand Junction, Colo., and Jackie (Roger) Bissell of Kearney, Neb.; as well as her beloved nieces and nephews. Preceding Beverly in death is her father, Calvin Fritzlan and nephew, Gene Scritchfield.
A memorial wake to honor Beverly is being held at the Corona Elks Lodge 2045 located on 912 E 6th Street Corona, Calif., 92879 at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013.
When the snow leaves the mountain trails, Beverly’s family will take her on her final trail ride to a beautiful place she chose in the White River National Forest Flat Tops Wilderness. Her ashes will join the wildflowers and towering pine trees overlooking a scenic valley of lakes and streams.
