Beverly McClain Porter, 52, of Aurora, died Aug. 10, 2008, at the Hospice of Metro Denver Care Center after a valiant battle with cancer.
Beverly Jean McClain was born Nov. 1, 1955, in Greeley, the daughter of Leland “Mac” McClain and Patricia Mary Kubacki. As a young girl the family moved to Meeker where Beverly attended schools, graduating from Meeker High School with the class of 1973.
On July 12, 1980, Beverly was united in marriage to Jack Richard Porter, Sr. in Las Vegas. The couple lived in Las Vegas until moving to Aurora. Beverly worked as a customer service representative in various retail stores. She loved watching game shows, reading romance novels and really enjoyed playing bingo with her family.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen Porter, of Aurora, her son, Jack Porter, Jr. and his wife Kim of Aurora, her husband, Jack of Aurora, her father, Leland “Mac” McClain of Meeker, her mother Patricia Butler of Wisconsin, three grandchildren, Sabrina, Brett and Richard, two brothers Russell McClain of Meeker, Gary of Denver, as well as two step-brothers, Lloyd and Ray Bradfield.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Cochran Memorial Chapel in Meeker with interment in the Highland Cemetery. A funeral service in Denver will be held at 12 p.m. Friday at the Bear Valley Christian Church. Memorial contributions in care of the family may be sent to Cochran Memorial Chapel.
