Bill Metzger passed away on Memorial Day—Monday, May 25, 2015—at Swedish Medical Center in Denver, Colo. He was 75.
Born in Grand Junction, Colo., at St. Mary’s Hospital on April 24, 1940, Bill was a Meeker native who loved his town, his family and his life.
The son of Karl and Evelyn Metzger was graduated from Meeker High School with the Class of 1958 and went on to become a success at everything he put his mind to.
An engaging motivational speaker, his desire to help people pushed into the realm of literature and led to several published books. Recording albums and singles alike, this accomplished musician was also known for putting on the impromptu show.
Even Bill’s hobbies reflected the zest with which he tackled everything he came across. He enjoyed traveling with this wife, Sherry, whether it was to New Zealand with friends, cross country to see family, or simply to the finest dance halls in Montana to cut a rug.
It was easy to buy things from an auctioneer like Bill, but even if you didn’t purchase anything, he still had a smile and a joke for you.
Bill’s charisma and energy made him a pillar to friends, family and community, and he will be dearly missed.
Mr. Metzger will live on in his survivors: his mother, Evelyn Metzger; a sister, Doris Lawrence; his wife, Sherry Metzger; his children, Lance, Kyle and Brian; and his grandchildren: Shelby, Lance, Cheyenne, Zack, Logan and Imma.
Memorial services will be held in Manhatten, Mont.
