Christopher Shane “Kit” Karschner was born Oct. 9, 1989, in Rangely, Colo., the son of David Alan and Deborah S. (Caswell) Karschner. He was raised and attended school in Rangely.
While attending Rangely High School, Kit was on the swim team and received various awards for his participation in that sport.
Most recently Kit was an apprentice with a HVAC company and also worked as a maintenance man for an apartment complex in Rangely.
He was a very good artist, did tattoos and enjoyed riding motorcycles.
Kit died on Saturday, July 28, 2012, near Maybell, Colo., as a result of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident. He was 22.
Kit is survived by his parents David and Deborah Karschner of Rangely; his sister Heidi (Lonnie) Yardley of Rangely; his brother Duke Stan Karschner of Rangely; his grandfathers Jack Caswell of Rangely and Harold Karschner of Kearney, Neb.; his aunt Karen Wilber and uncles Wayne (Moni) Karschner and Larry (Pam) Karschner all of Nebraska; his aunt Cheryl (Tyrone) Slaymaker of Rangely; his uncle Mike (Tonya) Caswell of Washington; his nieces and nephews Justin and Faith Yardley and Braydin Karschner all of Rangely, Colo., and Shaelyn and Seth Gilbert of Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his sister Jade Perry and his grandmothers Christene Caswell and Elva Jane Karschner. Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date.
