Longtime Eckert, Colo., resident, Clifford “Shady” Lane, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Horizon’s Care Center in Eckert, Colo. He was 89 years of age.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Clifford L. Lane was born on Sept. 22, 1922, to Clyde W. and Pearl (Lyttle) Lane in Collbran, Colo.
Shady married Carrie Mobley in 1944 in Pasadena, Calif.
Shady was a Pearl Harbor survivor on the USS Maryland. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, four-wheeling, sports and drinking beer.
Shady is survived by his three sons: Dennis Lane and spouse Becky of Eckert, Colo.; Mike Lane and spouse Pauline of Lynden, Wash.; and Dale Lane and spouse Vicki of Rangely, Colo.; a brother, Arnold Owens of Golden Shores, Ariz.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Shady was preceded in death by his wife Carrie Lane; parents Clyde and Pearl Lane and a brother, Bob Lane.
Arrangements were under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
