Curtis “Bud” Duffy of Meeker, Colo., passed away March 4, 2013, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction. He was 76.
He was born Jan. 14, 1937, to Bernard and Ruth Duffy in Glenwood Springs, Colo. He attended school in Silt, Colo.
Bud joined the Marine Corps early in life and served for 12 years. He was a proud member of VFW Post 5843. He was also an avid fisherman and hunter and had many stories and jokes for everyone and never met a stranger.
Bud married Judy McBride, which ended in divorce. He later married Juanita Goulette.
He is preceded in death by his wife Juanita; his parents; three brothers, Vernon, Walton and Sanford; and three sisters, Maxine, Bessie and Coleen.
He is survived by his companion Mary Ann Copeland of Meeker, Colo.; daughter Doris (David) Cushman of Portland, Ore.; stepdaughter Kim (Dick) Roberts of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sister Lenis Horn of Grand Junction, Colo.; brother Kenneth (Polly) Duffy of Grand Junction, Colo.; sister-in-law Jo Ann Duffy of Rifle, Colo.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also had several nieces, nephews, and very special friends, Cole Fritzlan and Shorty Frantz.
A memorial service will be held in his honor on March 23, at 11 a.m. at Fairfield Community Center, 200 Main St., Meeker, Colo.
