Obituary: Cynthia Lou Blanco

Cynthia Lou Blanco was born March 2, 1959, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Sharon Kay Askeland.
Blanco had two children, Anna born in 1982 and Jason Jay, born in 1985. She had four sisters: JuaNita, Ronda, Sonja and Shar; one brother, Heath; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and a number of great friends.
In the end, Cynthia was disabled but enjoyed numerous jobs in her life including traveling with the carnival, bartending, bouncing, housekeeping and anything else that kept her busy.
She loved going camping and fishing with her friends and family above Meeker and watching the fireworks on the Fourth of July. She loved family dinners around the table and just hanging out with her family and friends.
Cynthia was a runaway from the time she was 13 years old. Even after she became an adult, she never seemed to stay in one place for long, going from Iowa to Colorado and even to Mexico. She just never seemed to be content until she moved to Rangely. She loved the people and finally felt like she belonged. She was home for the first time in her life. Cynthia had a heart of gold and a sense of humor loved by all who knew her. She made a huge impact on every person she met and will be missed deeply by all. Cynthia is preceded in death by her mother, grandparents, a brother-in-law and a nephew.
Services will held at the Bible Baptist Church on East Main in Rangely, March 2, 2012, at 12:30 p.m., followed by a birthday celebration of her life at the Elk Lodge afterward. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for memorial contributions. An account has been set up at the First National Bank of the Rockies in the name of Cynthia Blanco. Arrangements and services were entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Rio Blanco Funeral Home.
