Donald Edwin ‘Thumper’ Wade II
June 7, 1958~Dec. 3, 2016
Donald Edwin Wade, II (Thumper) 58, of Rangely, died Dec. 3, 2016, at Huntsman Cancer Center, from complications caused by Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was born June 7, 1958, in Rangely, the son of Donald and Barbara Wade. He grew up in Rangely and was graduated from Rangely High School in 1976. Thumper was married to Denise Melanson and they had two daughters, Jillien Faye and Samantha Lynn. Thumper adored his grandson, Everett, and loved spoiling him.
There are simply no words to sum up this hilarious, huge-hearted man. The only thing he loved as much as his family was his work. He truly loved his job and enjoyed his co-workers at QEP and Tesoro Logistics.
Thumper was predeceased by his mother, Barbara, and we know she was waiting for him with open arms. He is survived by his daughters and grandson, his father, Don, of Rangely; his brother Paul Wade (Anne), of Mechanicsburg, Penn., his sisters, Paulette Comstock (Lance), of Montrose, Colo., and Cheri Smith (Mark) of Rangely. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, who thought he was the greatest uncle ever. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Nita Henson. Thumper loved and cared for so many people and he will be so very missed.
Cremation has taken place and at his request, no funeral will be held. We will be having a very casual Celebration of his Life for those who would like to share stories and memories. It will be held Dec. 17, 2016, at Rangely District Hospital’s Meeting Room, 225 Eagle Crest Dr., Rangely, Colo., from 2-4 p.m.
Thumper, like his mother before him, loved kids and feeding people, so we are asking that donations be made in his name to support our local Backpack Program through Rio Blanco BOCES, 402 W. Main St., Rangely, Colo., 81648.
