Duane Peter Ottosen, 81, of Meeker, Colo., passed away at his home on July 25, 2011.
He was born in Provo, Utah, on May 18, 1930, to Byron Clinton and Vera Marie Christensen Ottosen. He lived in Meeker all of his life. He was a rancher for many years and was a talented well-witcher. He also drove the school bus for 28 years and loved all the kids he drove to and from school. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and did temple work often at the Vernal, Utah, temple. Pete also belonged to the Lions Club and donated Christmas trees from his ranch. He was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need. He had a heart of gold and was a great neighbor and friend.
Pete is survived by his brother Lyle Clinton (Glenna) Ottosen of Meeker, and sisters JoAnn (Fred) Findlay of Meeker and Shirley Fliegel of Vernal, Utah.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 30, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the LDS Church in Meeker, Colo. Burial followed in the Highland Cemetery under the direction of the Rio Blanco Mortuary.
