Elizabeth Price
June 5, 1933~Jan. 23, 2010
Elizabeth Ann Price, 76, passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at Rangely District Hospital.
Elizabeth was born on June 5, 1933, along with her twin sister, Cordia Jane, to Ike D. and Maurine Ryan Price in Ardmore, Okla. When she was 9 her family moved to Muskogee, Okla. She later moved to Colorado Springs, then to Denver where she worked for Martin Marietta as a computer operator. Relocating to Vernal, Utah, Elizabeth owned and operated the Steinaker Center, a grocery and gas station at the foot of Steinaker Reservoir. After selling the center, she worked for Phillips Water Service. Upon retiring, she moved to Eagle Crest Assisted Living in Rangely to be near her sister Burna and family.
Elizabeth loved family, children, animals and the great outdoors. She loved to tell stories, especially about herself and her twin, as they were known around Ardmore as “the wrecking crew.”
“Liz” was an outgoing, warm-hearted, generous person and will be missed by her family, friends, and her “assisted living community.”
Elizabeth is survived by her daughter Peggy (Rick) Montgomery, grandsons; Rile, William (Erin) Montgomery, great-granddaughters, Jaeden and Addison, all of Olympia, Wash., sister Burna Blackburn, nephew Buckley (Cheryl) Blackburn of Rangely, niece, Sara (Curtis) Blackburn Baker of Colorado Springs, and nephew Rile Blackburn of Grand Junction. Also her best friends, Juleah and Orion Davidson, Elisabeth and Daniel, from Salmon, Idaho.
Funeral services were Tuesday, with a viewing at the LDS Chapel in Rangely. Interment was in Dry Fork Cemetery in Vernal, under direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
Condolence to the family of Elizabeth and to the staff at Eagle Crest Assisted Living who cared for her. I know how it feels.
