Ethel Amanda Stout

Ethel Amanda Stout passed on to her heavenly home in the early morning of Sept. 21, 2010. Ethel was born Jan. 31, 1920, to Ralph and Lena (Starnes) McDaniel in Fleming, Colo. Her preschool years were spent in eastern Colorado and the the family moved to Rulison, where she grew up, met and married her husband. Her married life started in Colorado then Arkansas, then back to Colorado. The family moved to Meeker in 1949, purchased a home the spring of 1950, and that is where she lived the rest of her life. She loved to work in her yard and garden. She was an excellent seamstress and made many of the clothes her family wore. She was an avid reader, and especially enjoyed historical books of the places she traveled. Her church and church family were very important to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, a sister and a grandson, Carl Stout. She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Mason Stout, her son C. Leon Stout (Jeanie) and daughter Dorothy McKee, all of Meeker. Also, three grandchildren, Earl Stout (Nikki) of Meeker, Preston McKee (Candy) and Susan Clements (Jeff) of Alaska, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by five brothers (Bob, Rodney, Floyd, Don and Vern) and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
