Gina ‘Nonni’ Spencer
Gina “Nonni” Spencer, 58, of Meeker, Colo., passed away on July 17, 2015. Gina was born Dec. 17, 1956, in Denver, Colo., to Roy and Mary Ann Mazzola.

Gina moved in 1972 with her family to Steamboat Springs, where she completed high school. Gina married her high school sweetheart, Ron Spencer, on Aug. 2, 1975. Ron and Gina began their family in Steamboat Springs before moving to Hayden, then subsequently settling in Meeker in 1994.
Gina is survived by: her husband, Ron, of Meeker; son Dominic Spencer and his wife, Jessica, of Denver; three grandsons, Kian, Kolton and Trey Spencer of Denver; two sisters, Kris Arcolesse and Cathy Kiser, both of Meeker; two brothers, Anthony Mazzola of Meeker and Ray Mazzola of Wright, Wyo.; and father-in-law Keith Spencer of Hayden.
Gina’s father, Roy Mazzola, mother, Mary Ann Sheridan, and daughter Patricia JoAnn (Patty Jo) preceded her in death.
Gina lived a life dedicated to the service of others. While living in Hayden, Gina earned her EMT and EMTI certification and worked with the local volunteer ambulance service. She also worked as a medical assistant and lab technician at Pioneers Medical Center in Meeker before deciding to pursue an education in alternative medicine.
Gina was graduated from the Colorado School of Healing Arts in 2013 and opened Hol Heart Bodyworks in Meeker, where she put her many talents to work through massage to help heal others, often extending massages and charging too little, or nothing at all, just so she ensured that she made her patients feel better.
Gina also volunteered at HopeWest as a medical massage therapist, using her talent to ease the pain and relieve the stress of those in need.
Gina loved cheering on her grandsons in lacrosse and basketball, camping with Ron and Papa Keith, spending time with her siblings and working in her garden and yard. She had a masterful talent for growing plants and flowers and has converted their residence into a plant and bird sanctuary.
Memorial services for Gina will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015, at the United Methodist Church in Meeker. A reception will follow at the Freeman E. Fairfield Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hope West, the Meeker hospice where Gina utilized her healing hands to ease the pain of patients. Donations can be sent to 100 Pioneers Medical Dr., Meeker, Colo. 81641, 970-878-9383, or www.hopewestco.org/index.php/ hospice-donation.
