Grace Allene Warren, 91, passed away March 24, 2015 after suffering a stroke.
Grace was born to Leo Little and Norma Elizabeth Young on Jan. 12, 1924, in Dardanelle, Ark. She had two older brothers and one younger sister.
They lost their mother when Grace was just 7 years old; her father remarried and she gained four more brothers and one more sister.
On Jan. 12, 1942, at the age of 18, Grace married Manford Warren of Rosetta, Ark. Throughout the years, she gave birth to one girl and six boys, losing her first child, a son, 12 hours after birth.
Mom and Dad moved to Colorado in 1952, when they lived in a lumber camp at Redfeather Lakes. In 1955, they bought their home in Wellington, Colo., and raised their brood.
They were blessed with 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and many more additions to the family through marriages.
Grace worked at many jobs, including a Cheese Factory and cafes where she waitressed and cooked. She started working at Teledyne WaterPic in 1966 and retired 20 years later, so she and Dad could do some traveling and whatever they felt like doing.
After losing Dad in 2006, Mom went to live with her daughter, Norma, at the K Ranch in Dinosaur, Colo. She enjoyed watching the hummingbirds at the window, the geese and chickens in the yard, the deer, elk, wild turkeys, even a bear that came down to visit. Hearing the cows bawl, seeing the calves running around just made her day.
She moved into Eagle Crest Assisted Living in Rangely, Colo., in May 2013. She enjoyed visiting, playing cards and bingo with her dear friends there and looked forward to going to Massadona to eat lunch.
Mom is survived by: her sons, Bobby Dwayne of Dinosaur, Kenneth Eugene of Laporte, Colo., and Stanley Allen and Jeffery Dean Warren of Fort Collins, Colo.; a daughter, Norma Lynn Snyder of Dinosaur; a brother, Roy Young of Arkansas; and a sister, Nora Phillips in Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manford Warren; two sons, Charles Lewis and Quentin Dale Warren; and grandson Michael Dan Snyder.
Funeral services will be held in Wellington, Colo., on April 11, 2015. There will be another service held locally for family and friends, but the date has yet to be set.
