Grace P. Wolfe
February 27, 1924 ~ February 12, 2008
Grace P. Wolfe, 83, passed away in Fairfield, Calif., Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008, after a brief illness.
Grace Murr was born in Meeker, Colo., on Feb. 27, 1924, where her family, Blanche and Vernon Murr, owned a ranch.
She married Fred C. Wolfe on Dec. 5, 1948, and they opened the Meeker Tire Shop.
In 1960 they moved to Casper, Wyo. Grace was a long-time resident of Casper and was a very active volunteer in her daughter’s school, the throat culture program and the Blue Envelope drives.
She and her husband enjoyed 21 years of traveling around the U.S. and being retired until he passed away in 1998.
Grace has been in Fairfield since then where she was close to sister, Hazel M. Lawrence, and her daughter Roxie and her family. After settling in Fairfield, she began volunteering two days a week at the Solano Community College Athletic Department. She very much enjoyed her nearly 10 years there working with the division staff and the athletes.
Grace is survived by daughters Jeanette Hunter of Ogden, Utah, and Roxie Morgan of Fairfield, Calif., and son, Duane Wolfe of Kila, Mont.; 21 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren and and great-great-grandchildren with a 10th due in March.
Grace’s ashes will be scattered near the Golden Gate.
