Helen Mae was the daughter of Lydia Mae Robertson and Elbert W. Loyd. She was born June 21, 1925, in Stewart, Neb.
Helen’s family moved to Colorado when she was 10 years old. Helen attended school in Meeker and graduated in 1943. Shortly after high school, Helen married Silas Chester Bailey,
moving 29 miles down Highway 64 to the ranch where they were blessed with two children, Penny Gay Brown and Kitty Rose Caulfield.
Upon the passing of her first husband, Helen married Marlin “Bud” Forest Cox of Axial Basin. Bud and Helen had three children together, Lester Elbert Cox, Joy Marlene Lorraine Clymer and Margaret Ruth Slaugh.
Helen enjoyed many different hobbies, including sewing, canning, gardening and telling a good joke. Helen always believed the best joke was the one you played on yourself.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents and both husbands, Silas Bailey and Bud Cox.
Helen is survived by a sister, Ruth Catherine Keller; a niece, Deborah Brown; a nephew, Kent (Janice) Keller; her five children, Penny Brown, Kitty (John) Caulfield, Lester Cox, Joy Clymer and Margaret (Dennis) Slaugh; her three grandchildren, Jason (Rose) Caulfield, Jennifer (Vincent) Bouzek and Cody Slaugh; and two great-grandchildren, Levi Cooper and Avarie Elise Caulfield.
Helen will be laid to rest in Highland Cemetery beside her loving husband, Bud.
