Jack L. Caswell was born Nov. 28, 1925, in North Hollywood, Calif., the son of Perry and Susan (Brown) Caswell. He was raised and attended school in Southern California.
Jack served in the United States Navy during World War II
He married Christene Turner on April 5, 1947, in California, and they became the parents of three children. They made their home in Southern California, moving to Eagle Point, Ore., in 1968 and then to Rangely in 1995.
Jack worked as an architectural sheet metal worker for many years before retiring in Rangely.
Jack died on Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at Rangely District Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 87.
Jack is survived by his daughters, Debbie Karschner of Rangely, Colo., and Cheryl Slaymaker of Duchesne, Utah; his son, Mike Caswell of Paulsbo, Wash.; his grandchildren, Heidi Yardley, Duke Karschner, Shaelyn Gilbert, Seth Gilbert, Jesse Caswell and Jared Caswell; and his brother, Don Caswell of Grass Valley, Calif.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Christene; his brothers, Lee and Bill; his granddaughter, Jade Perry; and his grandson, Christopher Karschner.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Oregon.
