John Hill McCamey

John Hill McCamey of Erie, Colo., died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008.
John was born to Helen Hill and John Dunkle on Feb. 8, 1929, in Wheeling, W. Va. He was raised in Sistersville, W. Va.
He spent many years in Orange County, Calif., with his wife raising their daughters and as the owner-operator of many successful businesses.
He spent memorable years building two cabins while hunting, fishing and relaxing in the Meeker, Colo., area.
He and wife Lucia traveled extensively to Europe and the Caribbean. He enjoyed deep sea fishing and hunting bear and moose in Alaska. He made yearly visits to his hometown and the surrounding areas of Sistersville, W. Va.
John’s many favorite memories were of his two years at Yale University. He also studied at the School of Mines and completed his degree at D.U. In later years he studied Theology at Holy Rood in upstate New York.
His passion for family history resulted in incredible genealogical recordings.
John Hill was actively involved in St. Mary’s Anglican Catholic Church in Denver including overseeing the building of the two-story addition.
He fulfilled his lifelong dream when he was ordained as a priest in the Anglican Catholic Church on Aug. 15, 2003.
He is survived by his wife Lucia Wedel and his five daughters: Julia Anne Muise (Bill) of Centennial, Colo.; Marjorie Luciana McCamey of San Mateo, Calif.; Helen Ritts Smith (Kevin) of Orange, Calif.; Lucia Virginia Hill McCamey of Centennial, Colo.; and Mary Joyce Reilly (Brian) of Centennial, Colo.; grandchildren Taylor Hill Smith, Amanda Ritts Smith, Shane Wedel Reilly, Jocelyn Schaal Reilly, Brienna McCamey Reilly, Natalya Irina McCamey, Igor Aton McCamey (Mardelia) and great-grandchild Tanya Guadalupe McCamey; Thomas Wayne Smith (Julie) and great-grandchild Ryan Smith.
