Joseph (Tony) F. Lane, 73, of Castle Rock followed his Shepherd and his God to His Eternal Home on Oct. 28, 2015, surrounded by family and loved ones.
Tony’s courageous journey with cancer was an inspiration to all. His legacy is engrained in the character of all the lives he touched. He is a former Rangely police chief and was Castle Rock chief of police for 25 years. He had 50 years in law enforcement.
Tony was a loving husband of 50 years to Lynne. He was a very proud father of Joseph, Richard (Cara), Mark (Suzy), Kendra, Steven (Amanda) and Paula (Patrick); Papa of Megan, Caden, Nicole, Garrett, Gracie, Rylan, Caleb, Jordan, Millie and Ella; and brother of David, Mary, Katie, Margaret, Richard and the late Peter and Stephen Lane. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A vigil will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2015, at 7 p.m. with a funeral Mass being said Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at 11 a.m., both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish, 2746 E. 5th St., Castle Rock, CO 80104.
Donations in Tony’s memory may be made to the Tony Lane Memorial Fund, c/o US Bank, 100 Founders Parkway, Castle Rock, Colo. 80104. The Lane family will direct all memorial contributions to Tony’s favorite charities.
