Kati Joy Wood Buttram passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2009, at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Grand Junction. As the ever-giving person, Kati spread joy and caring to all those around her. She shall be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Kati graduated from Meeker High School in 1996. She was a friend to all who knew her. She loved the outdoors and was amazingly talented. One of her many honors in 4-H included being Colorado State Fair Fashion Review Champion for the red-leather duster she constructed and modeled.
Additional gifts of Kati’s included cooking, hunting, managing the Meeker wrestling team, and most of all smiling and creating humor for family and friends.
Kati married Jerry Buttram on Jan. 19, 2007. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and cousin, Teed Stoner. Survivors include her parents Dan and Jean (Stoner) Wood of Meeker; Juli Guinn and son Andrew; Russ, Tammy Wood and children, Sean, Jace, Skyler; Dani and Brett Powell, and son Zane; Ray and Dawn Wood and sons Jesse and Dylan. Also, her special aunt, Sister Kathleen Wood, and Uncle Jake Stoner.
Services will be held at the Holy Family Catholic Church, with rosary at 5:30 p.m. Friday, July 17, followed by a remembrance of Kati’s life with snacks provided by the Wood family. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 18. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to the Grand Junction Hospice and Palliative Care Center through Cochran Memorial Chapel, P.O.
