Levi Miles Sanford was born on July 7, 1980, in Williston, N.D., and resided in Sidney, Mont., during his infancy. As a toddler, he moved to Waco with his mother and spent his formative years there, having been graduated from Waco High School in 1987.
Levi spent his early manhood in Waco pursing his artistic dreams, and he gained a reputation as a tattoo artist at Dream Connection Tattoos.
Although he loved his home on the banks of the Brazos River in Texas, he also loved the mountains of Colorado, where he spent summers with his father and eventually moved, having been graduated from the Denver Art Institute.
Levi was a successful commercial artist and owned his own shop where he produced many types of art including vinyl wraps for vehicles.
He spent his life away from work hunting, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, rafting, hiking and riding his motorcycle in the mountains of Colorado.
Levi is survived by: two children; Mason Berner and Haylo Berner of Guthrie, Okla.; his father, David Sanford, and his wife, Anita; his mother, Annette Babb and her husband, Ted; grandparents, Mike and Doris Sanford; grandmother Rosemary Horton; grandfather Walter Horton; and step-grandmother Virginia Babb. Additional survivors include: stepbrother L. Babb; stepsister Gwen Parmer; two half-brothers Shane Sanford and Michael Sanford; stepbrother Danny Pertile; stepsister Elizabeth Chandler; and additional uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews too numerous to list.
Levi’s life ended tragically on March 21, 2015, in a vehicle accident just outside of Denver. He was a true citizen of two states and loved his friends in Texas as much as he loved his friends in Colorado. He was a child of nature and loved the outdoors. He is mourned and missed by many!
A Celebration Of Life was held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel, 503 Terry St., Longmont, Colo.
