Marguerite Clarke Moreland Goudeau was born July 28, 1921, and died peacefully Feb. 13, 2013, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Big Cane, La., to Samuel Lovel Moreland and Ophelia Clarke Moreland, now deceased.
Marguerite was graduated from Morrow High School and attended Massey Business College, Houston, Texas. Later she was graduated from Rangely College, Rangely, Colo., with high honors.
She married Willie A. (Bill) Goudeau June 26, 1943, in St. Louis, Mo., and they were married for 69 1/2 years.
She was preceded in death in 1995 by their son Ronald Eugene Goudeau. She leaves her husband Willie, two daughters, Anita Rene Goudeau and Antoinette Faye Goudeau, and three sons and their wives: William Glen Goudeau and Peggy; Timothy Alan Goudeau and Marion; John Nathan Goudeau and Sherri. She leaves her only brother Sam Moreland, Jr. She also leaves seven grandsons, Jonathan Goudeau, Jared Goudeau, Joel Goudeau, Steven Goudeau, Tyler Goudeau, Spencer Goudeau, and Will Goudeau and two granddaughters, Ronda Rubben and Amanda Polania. She also leaves eight great-grandchildren.
Marguerite loved and trusted the Lord and was a devout Christian. She was actively involved in many ladies’ classes at church and benevolent works such as Brazil, Kenya and India, as well as many community activities wherever she lived. She and her husband, Willie, moved 18 times while serving in the Army and working for Chevron Oil Company. Marguerite served as registrar at Midland Christian School for 10 years. At retirement, the couple stayed in Midland, Texas, where they have lived since 1973. Wherever the family lived, Marguerite made their house a home filled with love, Bible reading and prayer every morning.

Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 17 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory, Midland, Texas. Services were held Monday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m. at Golf Course Road Church of Christ, Midland, Texas.
