Obituary: Marianna Raftopoulos

Marianna Mahleres Raftopoulos passed away April 14, 2010, at her home in Craig, Colo., at 8 a.m, after an 11-year battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.
Her loving family and a few of her closest friends surrounded her. Marianna was born on May 23, 1954, to Nick and Helen Mahleres, in Grand Junction, Colo.
Two services will be held in her honor. The Trisagion services will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday at Grant Mortuary, followed by the Funeral Service Monday at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church, 691 Green Street Craig, Colo. Additional seating and a video broadcast will be provided for the Monday service in the adjacent Episcopal Church, The Congregational Church and Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion. Both services are open to the public. Meals will follow both memorial and funeral services at the Fairgrounds Pavilion. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church, P.O. Box 848, Craig CO 81625.
Marianna is survived by her husband John Raftopoulos, sons George and Angelo Raftopoulos and daughter Mari Katherine Raftopoulos of Craig; Her parents Nick and Helen Mahleres of Grand Junction; Her brother Harry (Claudia) Mahleres and their children Nick, Eleni and Noelle Mahleres of Denver.
