Mary Evelyn Albiston
March 3, 1929 ~ June 1, 2008
Mary Evelyn Albiston was born March 3, 1929, in Denver, Colo., to Nels Gotfred Cronquist and Sarah Lorine McClearey.
She grew up in the Denver area during the Depression. Her father was a mechanic and her mother stayed home.
After she was graduated from high school in 1946, she worked at Montgomery Ward and attended Barnes Business School before meeting Gil Albiston on a blind date. They were married Nov. 14, 1948, sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in June 1951, and lived in Rangely for many years. They lived in Craig, Gypsum and Denver before moving to Vernal, Utah.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband in October 2004. She returned to live at Eagle Crest in August 2007. She is survived by her children, Gladys Lehnhof (Steven, deceased) of Redlands, Calif., Gary Albiston (Rebecca) of American Fork, Utah, and Beverly Byers (Mark) of Rangely, Colo. She has 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
She is remembered as being a sweet, loving person who cared for everyone. She will be missed by many.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 5 at 11 a.m. at the Rangely Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Interment will follow in the Rangely Cemetery. Friends may call prior to services at the church. Cochran’s Rangely Mortuary has been entrusted with the arrangements.
