Mary J. Wright, 93, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008 at the Walbridge Memorial Wing in Meeker. Mary was a lifelong resident of Silt and New Castle and had spent the last years of her life in Meeker.
Mary was born Oct. 25, 1915, at New Castle, Colo. Her parents, Mike and Jennie (Zarlingo) Manuppella and her two brothers, Tony and Carmen are all deceased. Mary grew up on a ranch at Harvey Gap and attended Elk Park country school through the eighth-grade. She was graduated from New Castle High School and attended Blair Business College.
Mary was united in marriage to Barney Wright in 1937. Barney preceded her in death in 1994.
Survivors include her son and his wife, Garry and Sandy Wright of Meeker; three granddaughters, Monica and Randy Rhodes of Casper, Wyo., Laura and Jake Osborne and Sylvia and Aaron Dembowski, all of Rangely. Mary is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Ashley and Kelly Rhodes, Logan Osborne and Justyne Dembowski and one great-great granddaughter, Hailey Davis.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27 at the Highland Cemetery in New Castle. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Silt Historical Society. Cochran Memorial Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements.
