Michael James Ryan was born Sept. 24, 1945, and he passed away Aug. 10, 2015, at Memorial Hospital of Carbon County in Rawlins, Wyo.
Mike was born to parents Herschel and Lila (Bishop) Ryan on Sept. 24, 1945, in Grand Junction, Colo. He moved to Rawlins in the late 1960s to work at Neuman Transit. He worked on and off for them for more than 20 years.
Mike married Aretta (Arti) Goff in 1970, and they were married 28 years before her death in 1998.
Mike enjoyed fishing, watching trains, the Denver Broncos, the Colorado Rockies and spending time with his grandchildren. His passion was over-the-road trucking.
He will be remembered as a man who would give you the shirt off of his back. He enjoyed visiting and making new friends.
Mike was preceded in death by: his parents; three brothers, Gerald, Gary and Billy; one sister, Sharon; his wife Aretta; and his daughter, Michele, and her husband, Luke Mulkey.
Surviving to honor Mike’s memory are: his daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Phil Vigil; granddaughter Brenda (Brian Dillon); grandsons Scott (Samantha), Brett (Jordon) and Corey; two sisters, Glenda Ryan-Horton of Grand Junction and Joan Ryan-Padilla (Roger) of Rangely, Colo., plus numerous nieces and nephews and greats, too.
A memorial service was held in Grand Junction on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, at the New Horizon Four-Square Church at 641 Horizon Dr.
