Nancy Cook, 59, of Meeker, Colo., passed away Tuesday evening, Jan. 13, 2015, in Meeker after a 16-month battle with cancer.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015 at the Wagner Funeral Home in Central City, Neb., with the Rev. Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Central City Cemetery.
Born Nov. 23, 1955, in Norco, Calif., to Lee and Joyce (Kellogg) Glynn,Nancy was the first of four children born to that union. Following her father’s honorable discharge from the United States Air Force in 1956, she moved with her parents to a farm near Palmer, Neb. She attended the Palmer public schools and later attended Nebraska Christian High School at Central City, Neb., graduating with the class of 1974.
It was at Nebraska Christian that Nancy heard, understood and trusted in the wonderful gospel message that offers forgiveness of sin and eternal life to anyone who will trust in Christ’s payment for sin on their behalf.
Nancy and Kim Cook met at Western Bible College in Denver, Colo., where both were students, and she was graduated in 1979. The couple were married Sept. 15, 1979, in Meeker, Colo., After pastoring churches in Colorado and Nebraska, they settled in Meeker.
Two daughters were born to the couple, and Nancy was a dedicated mother. She was employed in the local abstract office, did title work for the Bureau of Land Management and worked with the handicapped through the Horizons organization.
Perhaps because she was born in California, Nancy loved the beach, the ocean waves and sunshine. She adored her pets, and was seldom without at least one to care for. Some of her hobbies included refinishing antique oak furniture, decorating and making improvements to her home and shopping for a really good bargain. Her twin granddaughters added great delight to her life, and she was happiest when sharing time with close friends and family, and she kept in touch with many through the years.
Nancy is survived by: her husband, Kim; two daughters, Sydney Cook of Denver and Lindsey (Tim) Frankl and their twin daughters of Meeker; her mother-in-law, Leota Cook of Meeker; her mother, Joyce Glynn, of Central City, Neb.; two brothers: Rod Glynn of Central City and Donn (Michelle) Glynn of Clarks, Neb.; a sister, Janet Corich of Morrison, Colo.; one niece; and five nephews.
