Obituary: Paul Elder

Paul Elder, 55, was a man who lived life to the fullest. He was known for his generous spirit and his outgoing nature.
Paul was last seen Sept. 2, 2010. His remains were discovered on Sunday, July 8, 2013, on Lookout Mountain, overlooking Golden, Colo.
Paul was born Oct. 4, 1955, in Huntington, Long Island, New York. He grew up in Arvada with his mother, Joan, and brother, Bill, before moving to Meeker, to settle down and raise a family.
Paul married Samme Kay Russell in 1977 and together they raised three children: Amanda, Melissa and Joe.
Paul was a devoted husband and father. He was proud of the fact that he raised his children from preschool through graduation in the same school district.
He was a man of many talents who dedicated his career to his inventions. He loved boating, sailing, golfing and spending time with family and friends.
Paul will be remembered by his wife of 33 years, Samme Elder; his children, Amanda Jean Smith, Melissa Sue Baumgart and Joseph Paul Elder; their spouses, Nick, Christian and Jennifer, respectively; his grandchildren, Caydence, Jackson, Kinnley, Sebastian and Isabel; his mother, Joan Elder; his brother, Bill Elder; and loving nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Private services will be held.
