Rangely, Colo., resident Ronald W. Hartman, 52, died Feb. 19, 2008, in rural Rio Blanco County.
Ronald Wayne Hartman was born March 4, 1955, in Zanesville, Ohio, the son of Paul “Pete” and Florence (Norman) Hartman. He attended schools in Ohio, graduating from Philo High School with the class of 1973.
In June of 1974, Ron entered the United States Marine Corps, serving his country proudly and honorably until his discharge on June 15, 1982. On Aug. 14, 1982, he was united in marriage to Bonnie May Millsaps at the Bible Baptist Church in Rangely.
The couple celebrated their 25th anniversary last summer and Bonnie survives in the family home.
A resident of Rangely since 1984, Ron worked for Trevenen Oil Distributing until October 2006, when he went to work for Dalbo Trucking, where he was employed at the time of his death. Ron also once owned R&B Tires in Rangely.
A member of the Rangely Elks Lodge and the Eagle’s Aerie in Grand Junction, Ron loved to go fishing and spent as much time as possible with a fishing line in the river.
In addition to his wife, Bonnie, survivors include his mother, Florence Hartman of Blue Rock, Ohio; two brothers, Ralph (Cheryl) Hartman of Blue Rock and Randy (Maryann) Hartman of Zanesville, Ohio; his mother-in-law, Allene Anderson of Grand Junction; his sister-in-law, Barbara (Jon) Daniels and his brother-in-law, Boyd (Iris) Millsaps, all of Rangely; seven nephews, three nieces and many good friends.
His father, Paul, and two brothers, Roger and Rodney, have preceded him in death.
A funeral service was held Saturday at the Bible Baptist Church in Rangely. Interment with military honors was made at Rangely Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Ron Hartman Memorial Fund in care of Cochran’s Rangely Mortuary, 747 E. Main Street, Rangely, Colo., 81648.
