Rosemary Pryor La Grange was born Feb. 19, 1914, in Pueblo, Colo., where she also grew up. She passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2013, in Grand Junction, Colo.
Rosemary was graduated from Centennial High School in 1931, and she attended the University of Colorado for three years. It was at CU that she met her future husband, Robert La Grange. They were married in 1934.
The couple lived in Colorado Springs, where Robert practiced law until 1966, when they moved to Meeker, Colo. The La Granges owned and operated their cattle ranch, which was started in 1913 by Robert’s family.
Rosemary was active in Colorado Springs, volunteering with Community Chest, Visiting Nurses Association and several PTA offices. In Meeker, she was a member of Fortnightly Club, PEO, St. James Episcopal Church and Guild and the Cowbelles.
Rosemary enjoyed gardening, playing bridge and international travel. She lived in Grand Junction at the Fountains for the last nine years.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; a son, Robert Jr.; and granddaughter, Nancy La Grange.
She is survived by a daughter, Kitty Achziger (John) of Grand Junction; a son, Bill (Cora) of Gunnison; and daughter-in-law Kay La Grange of Laramie, Wyo. She is also survived by three granddaughters, one grandson and three great-granddaughters.
The family would like to thank the staff members of the Fountains and Hospice as well as her physician, Dr. Phil Mohler.
A memorial service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 368 Fourth St., in Meeker at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 1.
