Obituary: Ryan Rouse

Ryan Rouse died on Highway 139 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on October 20, 2011.
Ryan was born in Rangely, Colo., Jan. 12, 1974. He attended Rangely Public Schools K-12 and excelled in wrestling during his high school years. To be a Rangely Panther was one of his greatest honors.
Ryan worked in the Rangely oil field for several years. He then started his own company, Diamond Back Concrete, and was a cement contractor for the past 10 years.
Ryan loved to hunt and fish and could often be found in the great outdoors. He loved rodeo and all sports, as a young athlete. Ryan was an outstanding swimmer.
In 2002, Ryan met Clarissa Tooker and together they had two beautiful daughters: Presley Rouse, 8, and Ariel, 3. Clarissa and the girls continue to live at the family home in Clifton.
Ryan is also survived by his parents Chuck and Sue Rouse of Soldotna, Alaska; sister Dawn Burgett of Alaska; brother Brad Rouse and his wife Alyssa of Rangely, Colo.; grandfather Bill Burgett of Clifton, Colo.; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ryan learned at an early age that to have a friend, one must be a friend. Ryan practiced this during his lifetime and as a result, developed hundreds of friendships that continued to blossom through the years. Ryan was a giver and not a receiver. As a result, he has won the love and respect of many who knew him.
A memorial service for Ryan will be held at the Victory Life Church in Fruita, Colo., on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Ryan Memorial Fund at First National Bank of the Rockies.
