Obituary: Todd Wesley Offerle

Todd Wesley Offerle
Oct. 26, 1955 ~ Jan. 9, 2011

Todd Wesley Offerle, 55, of Bloomfield passed away Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011 at San Juan Regional. He had an infection that went to his heart. He was born in Meeker, Colo. Oct. 26, 1955, to Bob and Vonnie Offerle.
He was preceded to heaven’s gate by his grandparents, Thomas and Helen Offerle, Anna Offerle, Walter and Alma Stack; parents Bob and Vonnie Offerle; and other loved ones, Curtis Tinker and Rode Tinker.
He is survived by the love of his life, Rita Taylor; her parents Don and Fern Taylor; daughters Jennifer, “JJ” (Wade) Kennedy, Orrin, Taylor, Tammy (Jerry) Atencio, Brianna, Ariel, Xzavier; son Tyler (Elizabeth) Offerle, Emerie; sisters Nancy (Tom) Roberts, Linda (Steve) Smouse, Bobby (Rick) Watson, Sandy (Dan) Driscoll, Gaye (Jim) Grogan, Diana, Jeremy; brothers Phil (Gloria) Offerle, Russell (Debbie) Offerle, Dennis (Cindy) Taylor, Willie (Debbie) Taylor, Rodney (Michelle) Taylor, Bruce (Lori) Taylor. Many special nieces and nephews. The help from all of his friends and family through the years with his MS was greatly appreciated. Special friends Tom Bonds, John Pruitt, Brian Sharrard, Tom Roberts and Jeremy Sharpe.
Todd had many enjoyments in life: the Christmas Story movie (“You’ll shoot your eye out!”), starting projects (so that others can finish them), 4-H, Boy Scouts, football (Go Denver Broncos!), the outdoors, Ninja Pica’s, county fair, hunting (anything), NWTF, family, telling stories, harassing people, talking on the phone and talking on the phone!
There was never a day that he complained about how he was feeling — “I am doing all right.” He was always happy and enjoyed life. He was a true inspiration to all who knew him. He always had a smile on his face and never knew a stranger.
Services were held at Crestview Baptist Church, 4400 E Main St., Farmington, NM 87401 on Monday, Jan. 17, 2011. There was a meal for friends and family following the service at the church. The family dressed in camo attire in honor of Todd’s love of hunting and the outdoors.
