MEEKER I “This is what I heard…” and the story begins, passed from generation to generation.
“Stories of the White River Valley” is the theme for the 101st annual dinner/dance of the Rio Blanco County Pioneer Association (Old Timers) on June 8.
Doors will open at 3 p.m. at the Freeman E. Fairfield Center in Meeker, 200 Main St., for visitation and video recording of stories by the Rio Blanco County Historical Society.
There also will be books on display authored by people of the White River Valley and there will be some books for sale.
There will also be a photographer on hand to take group, family or individual photos.
Happy hour begins at 5 p.m., with dinner being served at 6:30 p.m. Friends and neighbors and invited to join in for great stories, great food and entertainment, which includes a foot-stomping good time dancing to the music of the Yampa Valley Boys.
