MEEKER | It took some doing, but a young mountain lion was corralled Wednesday afternoon near the Rio Blanco County Fairgrounds and not far from the new Meeker Elementary School. The lion, estimated to be about six months old, was captured and taken by DOW officials to a wildlife refuge in Silt. The lion was presumed orphaned.
