Jeremy Cantrell, the new physical education teacher, will take over the coaching duties, along with Jeremy Lohry, tonight, when the Panthers step on the court to play Moffat County’s junior varsity team in the first round.
“The guys are working hard and the seniors are making good adjustments to the new system,” Coach Cantrell said.
The Panthers will be led by seven seniors; Layne Mecham, Mitchell Webber, Colt Allred, Freddie Ruiz, Kelton Elam, James Scoggins and Luis Contreras.
Webber, Allred and Elam contributed extensively to last year’s team, which finished with an 18-6 record and a regional playoff berth.
“We are focused on the Shootout and hope to get better each game,” Coach Cantrell said. “We’ll get the new system in and hope to be good by the end of the season.”
Rangely will tip off against Moffat County at 6 p.m.
