RANGELY | The Rangely Panthers hosted the Dove Creek Bulldogs for their home opener this past Friday. The Panthers and Bulldogs did not disappoint the fans with both having a great back and forth showing. Titus Coombs struck two times in the first half with Dove Creek only able to answer one score going into the half with a score of 14-6. The Panthers fought hard defensively in the first half to keep the Bulldogs quarterback, Cody Kressler, at bay.
The second half the flood gates opened for both offenses with a back and forth performance that was awesome to watch. Titus Coombs put on quite the display, finishing the night with five rushing touchdowns, one receiving touchdown and three two point conversions. Hunter Hanvey and Anthony Lujan each added a conversion as well. The final score was 42-34. The Panthers travel to Del Norte to take on the Tigers for a non-conference matchup.
