MEEKER I This year’s Range Call Parade Grand Marshal is Rayola Rust.
Rust lost her courageous battle with cancer on July 5, 2014.
Rayola lived in Meeker for 40 years and had a great love for the people and the town.
She served on the Range Call board for more than 16 years, holding various offices such as president, vice president and secretary of the board.
One could always see Rayola at the ticket booths, greeting you with her contagious smile and a friendly hello.
She often could be found taking part in the Meeker Pageant as a squaw. She enjoyed playing this role for several years.
One of her favorite things about Range Call was the concerts. She loved country music and truly enjoyed meeting the different entertainers over the years.
Rayola was always an active member of the Meeker community.
She was a 4-H leader and a member of Ladies’ Social Club along with being very active in her church.
She was very well-known and admired for her willingness to serve her fellow citizens and for her enthusiastic love of life.
Rayola Rust touched many lives and leaves behind a marvelous legacy through both her children and grandchildren.
