MEEKER — Blanco Ranger District range technician Hal Pearce recently received the Meeker Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year award.
This annual award honors an exceptional member of the Meeker community who has volunteered considerable time helping make a difference in the lives of others.
Pearce was graduated from Meeker High School in 1972 and from CSU in 1976. Upon graduation, he worked on the family ranch for a number of years before becoming a range technician for the U.S. Forest Service in 1997. Hal also received the 2002 weed manager of the year award from the Colorado Weed Management Association for his “on-the-ground” innovation and leadership for invasive species management.
