Peewee wrestlers open season in Hayden

MEEKER — Twenty-seven peewee wrestlers from Meeker competed in the Hayden tournament last Saturday. The young Cowboys placed 16 in the top four and will compete in Rifle this Saturday.
Jake Rowland and T.J. Shelton both won individual titles in their weight classes. James Amick, Caleb Bradford, Tristin Pelloni, Jesus Holland-Gonzalez and Dillon Frantz were all runners- up.
Bronze medals were earned by Doak Mantle, Jacob Pelloni, Joshua Cochran, Chance Green, Aaron Cochran and Chase Rule, while Garrett Frantz, Colt Lewis and Austin Purcell all finished fourth.
Wrestling but not placing were Kesston Hobbs, Kascia Cochran, Tevin Secrest-Pelloni, Anthony Holland-Gonzales, Tannen Kennedy, Anna Castle, Conner Pursley, Tony Collins, Edward Pursley, Ruger Lewis and Cesar Cepeda.
