MEEKER |The Mountain Valley Bank Fall Festival pie, salsa and jam/jelly contest was a huge success, despite some damp, chilly weather. Best overall pie and $100 went to Tawny Halandras; best fall festival pie and $100 went to Jay Johnson; best fruit pie and $100 went to Barb Vaughn; prettiest pie and $50 was Kim Brown; and the best youth-made pie and $50 went to Reagan Brown. The best salsa and $25 was awarded to Kaycee Gonclaves and Gala Ivie received $25 for the best jelly. Thanks to the following sponsors of the prize money, whose support is essential to this event. The pie auction and sales earned the RBC 4-H Foundation slightly more than $700. This money will be used to fund awards, trips and scholarships to the 4-H members of Rio Blanco County.
