RANGELY I Giant Step Pre-school and Child Care Center will celebrate Week of the Young Child, April 11-17.
Giant Step will also host a children’s festival April 24 from noon to 2 p.m.
“The public is invited to stop in and participate with bubbles, tumbling, face painting, moon sand and other activities,” said Kari Way, director.
She said early childhood programs are important.
“Early childhood education is vital to our community. Children need a strong early learning foundation to succeed in school, and go on to succeed in life,” Way said.
She encouraged the community to support literacy programs.
“Early reading skills are crucial for young children to be ready for school,” Way said. “Reach out and thank parents, teachers and all adults who help young children get a great start. Support policies at the local, state, and federal levels that provide high-quality early learning opportunities for all young children.”
Parent volunteers are needed, Way added. For information, call 675-2671 or visit the Web site at www.giantstepcenter.com.
Month of the Young Child Placemats are available at Giovanni’s restaurant.
